Why is Internet Safety Important? Police Officer Reveals Answer in New Student Safety Books

Why is Internet Safety Important? As you have seen on the news and television shows like "To Catch a Predator" & "Oprah," Internet predatory has grown out of control. Legislation is currently attempting to pass bills to crack down on Internet predators. That is only part of the solution, says Tony. Tony says, "If we fail to simultaneously teach our children and teenagers how to stay safe, we are leaving the door wide open for new predators to walk in and to pick up where the arrested ones left off. When students transition into elementary, middle and high school, they need an entirely new set of safety tips. Through a series of crime stories told by police officers and candid interviews with convicted criminals, the books teach students how to avoid becoming victims in a variety crime. In each book, Newsom has included homework assignments to help the students retain what they learn.
