Event Innovation Appoints Frank Ganis VP Business Development; and Kent Leonard VP Product Delivery
Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 11, 2008 -- Event Innovation, a Washington, D.C. based enterprise software company for sports arenas and performing arts theaters, today announced the appointments of Frank Ganis as Vice President of Business Development and Kent Leonard as Vice President of Product Delivery.
Frank Ganis brings nearly 15 years of experience in and around eCommerce to Event Innovation. Most recently, Ganis served as head of business development at Blackboard Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBB) where he was responsible for creating and managing strategic partnerships with leading technology providers, content publishers and services companies. Prior to Blackboard, Ganis gained extensive executive experience in marketing, business development and product management at Sylvan Learning Systems, MCI, News Corp, Capital One, The St. Paul Companies and USF&G.
At Capital One, Ganis launched a series of leading-edge web-based products for teens and young adults, including Visa Buxx, the first national stored-value card for students, OneRamp, a free Internet access and Web portal service for cardholders, and LoanMobile, the company's first Web site for auto loans. At USF&G Insurance, later acquired by The St. Paul Companies, he founded the Multimedia Commerce group and introduced online insurance sales through a series of web sites for consumers, business-to-business and independent sales agents.
While at MCI/News Corp. Internet Ventures, Ganis led the development of YourMoney.com, a pioneering web-based personal finance community. In addition, he also helped create the first Web properties for several Twentieth Century Fox and Fox Network entertainment properties. At MCI Communications, he managed a series of interactive entertainment multimedia trials and directed the design of the first web sites for retailers such as Macy's, Brooks Brothers and Neiman Marcus' Horchow Catalog. Also at MCI, Ganis had the privilege of working on a team led by Vinton Cerf, the widely- regarded "Father of the Internet."
Ganis graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Computer Science and earned his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Ganis is a popular public speaker and a member of the Wharton Club of Washington.

Kent Leonard is a veteran with significant experience in ID Card Systems and Stored Value Card implementations with colleges and universities. A highly-regarded consultant in all areas of ID card transactions systems related to hardware and software applications, he has advised and managed hundreds of transaction/card system implementations throughout North America. In addition, Leonard worked at NYMA, Inc where he was responsible for the design, development and delivery of turnkey software solutions for various federal government departments including the Department of Energy and projects for Science Applications International Corporations (SAIC). He is a regular presenter at numerous conferences and conventions including the National Association of Campus Card Users (NACCU) and the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).
Leonard joins Event Innovation directly from Blackboard Inc. where he served in a leadership position on the Strategic Planning and Global Operations Team, managing its Commerce Suite Global Services Department. Leonard graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and serves as a member of the Project Management Institute.
