Wild Republic Signs with National Geographic for 'Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies' Toys

Twinsburg, Ohio (PRWEB) March 3, 2008 -- Wild Republic today announced a global licensing agreement with National Geographic as a toy product partner for plush, puzzles and figurines based on the new PBS KIDS show, "Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies."

"Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies" is a warm-hearted, high-spirited show about a sassy, soulful elephant host named Mama Mirabelle and the young animal characters she cares for on the African savanna. Starring Vanessa Williams as the voice of Mama, the series combines an animated world that preschoolers will want to explore, with stunning wildlife movies from National Geographic and BBC award-winning archives.

Kim Hammeren, Director of Marketing, Special Projects, at Wild Republic, said, "To work on a series that is as successful and inventive as 'Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies' is a great honor. The main products from Wild Republic for "Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies" are plush versions of the co-stars of the movie, Max the elephant, Karla the zebra, Bo the cheetah and Mama Mirabelle herself. The products build upon the unique positioning of the series, which looks at the natural world from a preschooler's perspective. The plush will be distributed by National Geographic Kids Entertainment in both domestic and international markets.

"Signing a deal with Wild Republic is an exciting first step in what will hopefully be a strong licensing program for the 'Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies' series," said John Dumbacher, Senior Vice President of Licensing for National Geographic.

A co-production of National Geographic Kids Entertainment (NGKE), BBC/CBeebies and King Rollo Films, "Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies" represents the first time National Geographic Kids Entertainment and PBS KIDS have teamed up to bring a children's show to television.

The new "Mama Mirabelle Home Movies" toy products join other successful product series from Wild Republic, which include the famous hanging plush monkeys, Morphs, Cuddlekins, Blanket Pillow Buddies, Audubon Birds, Paws & Claws, Vibes, Know & Grow development toys, Garden Accents, adventure box sets, wooden puzzles, wind-ups, wall walkers and puppets, among other items.
