Successfully Promoting Black Owned Businesses During National Black Business Month

Santa Maria, CA (PRWEB) August 8, 2007 -- Giving freely to others as a business growth strategy is too often overlooked by Black Business Owners everywhere, says Andre Bell, the owner of Andre Bell Consulting Group a business strategy firm based in Santa Barbara county, California. In most cases, opportunities are completely lost.

Why does this happen?

"Our environment and the constant barrage of advertising we are exposed to conditions us to focus on getting. When business owners are forced to focus on cash flow problems, employee hassles, and other challenges that come with running a Black Owned Business, they tend to overlook opportunities to give back to others."

Bell claims a business can see greater success from focusing on giving, than by focusing on getting. "There's the old saying that there's more happiness in giving than receiving. This is especially true of running a business," he says.

Bell says the first step in building a business through giving involves recognizing opportunities to give. He says an ideal time to give something back is during National Black Business Month.

"A business should ask themselves, what can they give to others that will bring genuine appreciation from prospects and clients? Can the business offer any of the following:

?    A free product or service

?    A special discount or gift

?    A valuable report or other information product related to the services or products the business offers

By focusing on giving instead of focusing on receiving, a business will attract new clients and new opportunities that just aren't there when we are focused on ourselves," Bell says.

Attracting new clients through giving is just one way to grow a business.
