C.R. England Selects EXTOL EDI Business Integration Solution
Pottsville, PA (PRWeb) February 3, 2007 -- C.R. England, an industry leader in providing temperature-controlled trucking, brokerage, intermodal and container service, has selected EXTOL business Integration software to enable their IT team to effectively support their rapid growth and expansion. A $600 million privately-held company based out of Salt Lake City, C.R. England chose the EXTOL Integrator because of its ability to automate much of the routine, day-to-day functioning of their EDI initiative, which spans all four divisions of the company. EDI now requires less than one full-time-equivalent (FTE) of a limited IT department to support all EDI activities including on-boarding new customers, adapting to customers' individual document and process requirements, and integration with C.R. England back-end systems.

"Our IT team could only handle 1-2 new customers per month, and our sales team was selling at a rate of 5-6 new customers per month. We knew we had to make a change to support the company's growth."
C.R. England formerly had one full-time employee completely dedicated to EDI. Now, because the automated functionality of the EXTOL (http://www.extol.com) Integrator, and the fact that it does not require custom programming, that employee spends only 30% of his time on EDI, and can devote more time to strategic projects.

More than 100,000 EDI transactions are processed by C.R. England each month, as well as direct communications from trucks enroute. Every truck is in constant contact with the shipping department via QUALCOMM, a wireless communications system, which integrates with EXTOL. This enables C.R. England to provide customers with real time shipping status reports.
The company is achieving one of its central initiatives - customer satisfaction - through its efficient use of EDI with customers such as Nestle, Dole and ConAgra. In addition, because of the ease of use of the EXTOL solution, they plan to help their smaller customers begin using EDI.
